Norwich Diocesan Association of Ringers
The Nolan Golden Education Fund
The Norwich Diocesan Association of Ringers acquired Charitable Status in 1996
in connection with the establishment of the Nolan Golden Education Fund in memory of a
revered member of the Association.
Nolan Golden was a teacher by profession and was dedicated to the advancement
of the art of bell-ringing through the training of others.
He was an accomplished ringer, conductor and composer and many of his compositions
are in regular use today. He was awarded the MBE, for services to bellringing,
in 1989. He died in 1991, aged 83.
In recognition of his contribution to ringing in Norfolk, the Association established
a fund in his memory to support the education and training of ringers in the Diocese of
Norwich, to function in parallel with the existing Bell Restoration Fund.
